The Keystone State Bombers 14u National team is the first baseball team in the organization to gain national recognition as one of the Top 25 best teams in the country. Number 25 to be exact. After concluding the regular season with a 21-4 record, which included winning games over #14 US Elite, #41 Keystone War Eagles and #91 Diamond Jacks, the Bombers headed to Georgia for the Perfect Game World Wood Bat Association Championships, a tournament of 140 of the top teams in the country. There they finished with a record of 6-2-1. While in Georgia, the Bombers beat #118 Team Elite Futures, #20 Home Plate Chilli Dogs and tied #7 Dallas Tigers before falling to #10 Ohio elite by a score of 3-2. The Bombers defeated some incredible teams a long the way and fought hard to earn the well deserved #25 ranking.
Additionally, the WWBA tournament also gave some of the Bomber players some personal accolades that won't soon be forgotten. The tournament chose the twelve best pitchers and the twelve best hitters of the tournament. The Bombers were fortunate to get a player named to each of those two teams as the "Tournament Elite Team". Matt Williams, a 6'5" 215lb right handed pitcher from Lititz was named to the team as two of the 6 wins in the tournament came behind his pitching performances. He threw 10 innings striking out 5 and allowing just one walk. Nik Rubendall also made the Tournament Elite Team on the offensive side hitting for a .300 avg with 2 doubles and 10 RBI.
Members of the All-Tournament Team for the Bombers are as follows:
- Matt Williams .556 Avg, 1 double, 6 RBI
